If I seem a little distant or incoherent, it's because I am. I am not a NeuroTypical and I have no desire to become one. This is simply the area in which I stim my creative impulses. maybe the only "problem" with me is that you think that there's a problem with me... posted by Sinister at 1:07 AM Tuesday, September 25, 2001
25 September. St Cadoc's Day. Cadoc was a sixth century Welsh abbot who, at the end of his life, was transported in a cloud from Llancarfan to Benevento in Italy, where he was made bishop and died a martyr's death celebrating mass. It is also St Cyprian the Magicain's day. He was a necromancer who was asked by a nobleman to help seduce by magic a young Christian woman, Justina, but who was defeated by her goodness. He burnt his books and ended up being torn apart with iron hooks. It is also St Finbarr's Day: he crossed the Irish Sea on horseback. posted by Sinister at 5:31 PM Monday, September 17, 2001
In 1859 the Englishman Joshua Norton announced himself Emperor of the United States, and a proclamation was published by the San Francisco Bulletin. He attended different religious services on a rotational basis so as not to offend anyone, ordered cessation of the Civil War hostilities, and paraded the city inspecting his subjects, who paid rent for his lodging house. posted by Sinister at 7:55 PM Thursday, September 13, 2001
from all the inferences and conspiracy theories my warped mind could come up with, surely one of the oddest is that this is just a way to let Dubya obtain martial law... somehow Florida ties seem reminiscent of Jeb tyring to help... but who knows... posted by Sinister at 3:06 PM Thursday, September 06, 2001
Giordano Bruno was burned at the stake February 18, 1600, for teaching that the earth moves... was he guilty or not? posted by Sinister at 1:24 AM the knight of cups becometh mine I... and the prince of wands my other... posted by Sinister at 1:21 AM I do so much for people, for so little reward, and now when I call on them they're just cold and bored... posted by Sinister at 1:15 AM Domesticated Primates - Humans who do not think for themselves. Human beings who belong to tribes, states, churches, rigid organizations, nations, industrial societies. The stages which precede individual cyber-life. This is another typical Sufi (Gurjieffian) barb at people who do not think for themselves. An "in joke" not appreciated by some. posted by Sinister at 12:57 AM Wednesday, September 05, 2001
sometimes I feel like the world is so distant sometimes I worry that nobody could want me sometimes I wonder why people around me could live with what I am capable of... posted by Sinister at 12:13 AM Tuesday, September 04, 2001
"family pressure..." what a horrid word, family! its very etymology accuses it of servility and stagnation. Latin, famulus, 'a servant'; Oscan, Faamat, 'he dwells'. it is the mob spirit crushing genius, or overwhelming opposition by brute arithmetic. posted by Sinister at 8:39 PM the movie Pi offered some interesting insight to cabala, however, in the explination it is interesting how the rabbi failed to mention the equivalence of Neschesh (the serpent) and Messiach (the messiah) in the tale of the garden of eden... posted by Sinister at 8:25 PM well, only one person responded to my riddled poem... *chuckles* no, miss meredith, it is not "a fallacy of equivocation" as you guessed... usually, it is non distributio medii... but I won't hold it against you... posted by Sinister at 7:49 PM |
